The Spanish consortium SICE-Cobra is now ready with the plan of action for the implementation of one of the major contracts on the Fehmarn project, the so-called TEM contract worth approximately 700 million euro.
Division manager, José Manuel Olivares Villafranca, presented the plan to the 350 participants present at the Fehmarn Link Business Conference ´22 (29.09.2022) in Rødbyhavn.
For the execution of the TEM contract, SICE-Cobra has founded the company “Femern Systems Contractor” (FSC) with headquarters on Lolland. The contract includes the electrical and mechanical interior of the tunnel, including ventilation, lighting, instrumentation and automation processes and safety systems.
The work will be carried out in the period from December 2022 until a few months after the commissioning of the tunnel at the end of 2028.

SUB-Contractors brought into play
Femern Systems Contractor will carry out a procurement process with subcontractors during 2023 and until October 2024, whereafter the contracts are expected to be awarded.

José Manuel Olivares Villafranca said at the conference that Femern Systems Contractors are looking for companies that have competences in the latest technologies that are relevant for use in the technical installations of the tunnel, and extended an open invitation for innovation concerning the whole project.
Up to 450 employees
Femern Systems Contractor expects to employ up to 450 employees during their busiest period from July 2025 to June 2028.
This applies to both White Collar and Blue Collar workers on both the Danish and German sides of the Fehmarn Belt.
