Femern Belt Development has key relations to and collaborates with a wide range of central actors, both in Denmark and in Germany, whose key interest is in the Femern Belt Link and Femern Belt region. 

Femern Belt Committee is a cross-border Danish-German political collaboration. The committee aims for an integrated Femern Belt region.

Building Contractors

  • Femern A/S is owned by the Danish State and is the building contractor for the Femern Belt tunnel. The company headquarters are in Copenhagen with offices in Rødbyhavn (DK), Burg (D), Hamburg and Berlin.
  • The Danish Ministry of Transport owns Sound and Belt A/S (Sund og Bælt A/S), which is the parent company of Femern A/S.  
  • The Danish Road Directorate is responsible for the construction of the new Storstrøm Bridge.
  • A/S Femern Landanlæg is the building contractor with overall responsibility for the construction of the Ringsted-Femern railway.
  • Banedanmark (Danish Rail) is responsible for the planning of the overall railway infrastructure in Denmark.

  • Femern Link Contractors (FLC) is constructing the tunnel, the portals and ramps.
  • Fehmarn Belt Contractors (FBC) is carrying out all maritime excavation and the establishment of reclaimed land and areas of new nature.

Authorities

  • Lolland Municipality is the authority accommodating the production facility for the tunnel elements for the Femern Belt Link.
  • Femern Agency is the service authority for Femern construction workforces.
