The construction of the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link is really taking shape. Day by day, clear progress can be seen and the dimensions of the project are now clearly visible in the coastal waters and at the construction site in Rødbyhavn.
Many companies are already assigned to the project, but since the activity around the project will continue to increase steadily in the coming years, there are still plenty of tenders and tasks to bid for, both for Danish and foreign companies of all sizes.
The international business conference Fehmarn Link B2B Conference 21 (FLBC), which will take place on Thursday 09 September 2021 in Rødbyhavn Sports Hall, is aimed specifically at organizations and companies with an interest in participating in the construction of the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link and its spin off effects.
The conference is expected to attract 600-700 participants primarily from Denmark and Germany, but also from other European countries, where interest in the Fehmarn Belt project is also very high.
FLBC is organized by Femern Belt Development and the Fehmarnbelt Business Council in collaboration with these cross-regional partners:
Femern A/S, Femern Landanlæg A/S, IHK zu Lübeck, IHK zu Schwerin, HanseBelt e.V., Dansk Industri, Dansk Byggeri, Handelskammer Hamburg og 3F.
Business conference with information for subcontractors
The conference offers contributions from the building owner Femern A/S, as well as from the two main consortia; Femern Link Contractors (FLC) and Fehmarn Belt Contractors (FBC).
"At the conference, we provide participants with information on the status of the major construction work as well as guidelines regarding criteria that the international consortia require from subcontractors who wish to qualify as suppliers," says director Stig Rømer Winther, Femern Belt Development.
“On the German side, we are experiencing a growing interest in the business community to get involved in the upcoming tunnel construction. German companies have opened their eyes to the business opportunities that lie not only in the construction period, but also in the future, after the tunnel has become a reality,” says Chairman of the Fehmarnbelt Business Council, Siegbert Eisenach.
Focus on networking and B2B
In addition to the informative presentations, there will be a strong focus on networking and B2B; an exhibition area of 1.400 m2 housing more than 70 business stands will ensure an optimal B2B environment.
"In 2020, due to the outbreak of Covid-19, we unfortunately had to postpone our planned conference at short notice. Although we held an extremely informative and professionally produced virtual conference in December, we are still aware that the whole B2B part was missing. That’s why we are really happy to announce this 2nd conference, where the focus is on our physical meeting, which we all know is so important in relation to concluding agreements, collaborations and professional relationships in general, ”says Director Stig Rømer Winther, Femern Belt Development.
