At Resource City you can experience an overall plan for how waste and recycled materials can make the fundaments for a positive development of the Municipality of Næstved. Resource City will attract businesses and create new employment, by illustrating the significant value of the recyclable materials that are available in Resource City.
Resource City is special, as there is political support from Næstved city council, economical support from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, NK Forsyning and Næstved Municipality, as well as the already existing businesses within waste management and recycling. The location at Maglemølle, the vision and plan developed by Lendager Architects about an up-cycling business cluster and the municipal engagement in the project, makes this project unique.
We would like to show the area, that previously housed Maglemølle Paper factory and that in the future will make up the setting for Resource City. Today the Danish Cultural Agency characterise Maglemølle as one of Denmark’s unique cultural environments, where many of the buildings are worthy of preservation.
The Femern region and South Zealand will obviously become closer connected with the fixed link. The new logistical possibilities that will arise from the tunnel will place Næstved centrally between Copenhagen and Germany.
